Sunday Is Snow Day?

Well, it's Sunday and the ski fields are open (last 2 weekends that's not been the case) and there's snow and there's sun . . . but no people. Once again I'm not having a snow filled Sunday. Seems people would rather study for test/exams, etc than to ski. Bah!

House Hunting No More

Oh yeah, I bought a house. Doing the lawyer thing at the moment, but it all looks good. Possession is in a month. Yeah for no more house hunting.

Early Hour Snow

Well, apparently the weather reports were correct, it snowed again in Chch. I say apparently beccause when I awoke there wasn't any snow on the ground. So I missed it. There's plenty of snow on the Alps and even yesterday there was snow on the Port Hills.

Not sure of the state of the hills today. There's been a decent amount on rain in the last 24 hours, so I'd say even that's gone.

I should be getting to the snow this weekend, tho. Porter Heights has opened again, so here's hoping they don't blow more stuff up.

Guifications 2.0 Theme

I've written a theme for Guifications 2.0. It's based off an existing theme based on MSN Messenger. I've broken from straight emulation of the Messenger functionality and added the buddy icon to the pop-up. If you're a fan of the messenger style of pop-up then check out this theme.

No Skiing This Weekend

Well, the fine people of Porter Heights decided to clear away some dodgy snow and ended up "damaging the concrete foundation of one lift tower on T-Bar 1." So I won't be up at the snow tomorrow. They expected to have it sorted by mid-week, but we'll see.

Have the option to go up to Castle Hill tomorrow for the night. Not sure who's going so I think it'll be safer to pass on that option.

Didn't get that snow in Chch as they predicted. They've taken another guess and said Monday is a day for snow here on the coast. Again, we'll wait and see.

More Snow

They're expecting more snow in Chch tomorrow. There's still limited amounts of snow on the ground from the last downing 2 days ago. That's not such a big deal for mountain people, but here in Christchurch we're a sea level.

Thought pops into head.... I want to see the snow falling into the ocean. That's got to be rare sight. Considering the ocean is in view from the park at the end of my street it shouldn't pose too much of a problem.

I didn't end up taking any photos of the last batch of snow, which is rather unfortunate. I went out at about 11pm on Sunday and the city was looking quite beautiful. I guess the snow reminds me of my youth, spending time in Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead and Mammoth.

Now my snow activities are pretty much limited to Hanmer visits. Though for the next two weeks I'll be running ski trips up to Porter Heights. Should prove to be interesting considering I haven't been skiing in more than a decade.

First Post!

Well, here's my first entry. Nothing to see here, move along.
