Photo of the Week

This is the last of the sunset set. This was taken at 7:34pm, 11 minutes after the last photo.

This is just further round the dirt road. You can still see cattle and there's some sheep thrown in for good measure.

Photo of the Week

Here is the second stage of sunset. This was take at 7:23pm, 27 minutes after the last photo.

The first stage was taken in the rocky outcrop on the right side of the waters edge. VPM and I had walked there along the water, then walked up to the bottom of the crag. When we left we walked the rest of the way up the rock.

Once at the top we were greeted by a heard of cattle. It was no big deal to walk around them, but then they started following us. VMP got a little freaked and asked if they were bulls. Having only given them a quick look over I had determined they were cows, and we continued to walk around them. And they still followed. Then we both noticed that one cow was a bit different from the rest. VPM got a little more freaked, but the bull was too busy keeping the cows from us to show us any attention.

We snuck our way around going back down to the beach and then followed the path up to the road. It's from that dirt road that this photo was taken. You can see the cattle on the top of the rocky bit.

So You Think You Can Dance

If you've dreamed of showing off your dancing skills to the New Zealand tv watching population, you now have the chance. TV3 has a new dance show coming in 2006, "So You Think You Can Dance." Apply now!

I found this while looking at the TV3 website. Not only did they uglify their site, they also broke my personal tv listings.

Photo of the Week

Well, I've taken some more photos and over the next three weeks I'll be showing "stages of sunset." All three photos were taken from the same bay as the last photo, Purau Bay.

This first photo was taken at second belay spot of the crag we use for climbing in Purau. (visible in the last photo in the center of the image) This was taken at 6:56pm.

Cheaper Petrol

Quick fact: With regard to petrol prices, Christchurch suffers from price fixing.

There is one exception to this rule: Shell Linwood, located on the corner of Linwood Avenue & Cashel Street.

This single station has been playing the capitalist game a little different. You'll usually find the price about 2 cents cheaper there than the fixed price. While 2 cents isn't a huge savings, for me it equates to almost a free tank of petrol after a year.
